Why Timely GST Return Filing is Vital for Your Business

Stay 100% compliant, claim eligible tax credits, and protect your GSTIN from suspension

100% Input Tax Credit (ITC)

Reconcile purchases with GSTR-2B so you never lose a rupee of eligible Input Tax Credit.

Zero Late Fee & Penalties

Filing before the 20th avoids statutory late fees of ₹50/day and 18% p.a. interest liability.

Prevent GSTIN Cancellation

Continuous default in filing for 6 months leads to suo-moto cancellation of GST registration.

Higher Vendor & Buyer Trust

Corporate clients check your GST compliance rating before awarding high-value purchase orders.

Seamless Bank Loans & Credit

Regular GST return filings serve as certified financial turnover proof for MSME business loans.

How Does It Work?

3 simple steps from inquiry to completed service

1. Share Invoices

Upload your sales & purchase registers, bank statements, and expenses via WhatsApp or Email.

2. Expert Reconciliation

Our tax accountants reconcile GSTR-2B vs purchase bills and compute net payable tax liability.

3. Portal Filing & ARN

We file your GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B returns and deliver the government ARN acknowledgement instantly.

Understanding Monthly & Quarterly GST Return Filing in India

Every registered entity with a valid 15-digit GSTIN is legally required under the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017 to submit periodic statements of outward supplies and tax liability.

Under the current compliance framework, regular taxpayers file GSTR-1 (details of sales invoices) and GSTR-3B (summary return for payment of tax). Businesses with annual turnover up to ₹5 Crores can also opt for the QRMP Scheme (Quarterly Return Monthly Payment).

UdyogSetu handles your complete data vetting, invoice-level matching, credit ledger reconciliation, and filing on the government portal without any hassle for you.

Documents Required & Information Needed

Ensure smooth, same-day processing by sharing simple scanned copies:

1. Sales & Purchase Records:

  1. Sales Invoices / Summary of outward supplies for the month.
  2. Purchase Invoices / Inward supply bills with GSTIN numbers.
  3. Debit Notes and Credit Notes issued during the tax period.
  4. E-Way bill copies for goods shipments.

2. Portal Credentials & Statements:

  1. GST Portal Login Credentials (Username & Password).
  2. Bank Statement of the business for the corresponding month.
  3. Summary of advance payments received or reverse charge transactions.

Important Guidelines & Statutory Criteria

  • Mandatory for Active GSTIN: Return filing is compulsory even if there were zero transactions (NIL Return filing).
  • Due Dates: GSTR-1 is due on the 11th of each month (13th for quarterly). GSTR-3B is due on the 20th of each month.
  • Late Filing Penalties: Statutory late fee of ₹50/day (₹20/day for NIL returns) plus 18% interest on net tax payable.
  • Annual Return GSTR-9: Compulsory annual return filing for taxpayers crossing ₹2 Crore annual aggregate turnover.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

toggle FAQ icon

1. Is GST return filing mandatory if my sales turnover is zero?

Yes. Filing a NIL return before the due date is strictly mandatory. Failing to file a NIL return still attracts a statutory late fee of ₹20 per day.

toggle FAQ icon

2. What is the difference between GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B?

GSTR-1 is a report of all outward supplies (sales invoices, credit notes) that populates your buyer's GSTR-2B. GSTR-3B is a summary return where you declare total output tax, claim eligible ITC, and pay any net tax due.

3. What happens if I miss the GST return filing due date?

Late fees accumulate automatically at ₹50/day (₹25 CGST + ₹25 SGST) until filed, and interest at 18% p.a. applies to unpaid taxes. Furthermore, your E-Way bill generation will be blocked after 2 consecutive missed filings.

4. How does UdyogSetu reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC)?

We match your purchase register line-by-line against GSTR-2B pulled from the government portal to ensure you claim 100% legitimate credit while avoiding department mismatch notices under Section 16(2)(aa).

5. Can I revise a filed GST return?

GST returns cannot be revised once submitted. However, any omissions or errors can easily be rectified in the subsequent month's GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B filing.
